RESPONSIBILITIES 07/17/2010
Classic word ...Responsibilities, Lord knows we all have our em.....here...We have Fort and Ellie, what a beautiful pair..Gene and I count our blessings daily to have Fort and Ellie in our lives as well as the other dimensions we have welcomed in our lives. I never had a notion of the concept until I had children and so do recall while being a ski bum back in Jackson , Tahoe and Verbier ..why the mom's didn't get out there skiing like they used to......now I know, didn't understand and didn't care to ...for I was to busy enjoying myself, life, my own thang...never thought I'd get married, etc and all that goes with it. Now other priorities take precedence and it takes a strong individual to see what's most important in our lives....keep focused. In my youth there is no way i could of...perhaps that's why I had children in my later years...gracias A Dios para su ayuda con my vida porque sin tu corazon...I would of been lost..to say the least. Here Responsibilities are a daily thang....and ya just take em on....but keep pluggin away and the days go by and months and years then....before ya know it ....here ya find yourself. Wow...what a concept. ...takin it on. Thank you Great Spirit... Now....let's take it a step forward...as a whole what are our individual responsibilities, Lord knows I have mine and you have yours...but together we are all connected and what can we do with that connection..... ......the way I see it ....the sky is the limit. Let's join our vision, hearts and hands ....together we can make a difference. So subtle, yet so strong. please check this out lhttp://www.financialpost.com/news/Lawrence%20Solomon%20Avertible%20catastrophe/3203808/story.html Talk about the responsibilities ....phew...talk about the importance of protecting our waters, our liquid gold ...our future...our children, our future, our planet. We are all connected regardless of our skin color, the language we speak, where we were born, the religion we believe in...I believe we are all connected. ....and there is no doubt in any mind we share this planet together. How does that saying go...oh yea, "Together we stand, divided we fall". Thanks for this info Al and Annie of www.loszacatitos.net thank you for your insight. Although the challenge within the left and right within the US seems like childhood school play and the principal needs to step in. Here we are. How do we as humanity step up and take responsibility. p.s. use less plastic, it takes oil to create and oil to recycle TALK ABOUT THE WEATHER 07/04/2010
In my youth I remember one of my grandfathers....Wallis Tractor Campbell, yep...that is what his parents named him, so I have been asked to confirm over the years...a true cowboy. From the days of the 60's and then some at the Wagner Ranch just south of the Red River border between Oklahoma and Texas 100 head of horses and ten times as many cattle, he even journed into the Tetons, Jackson Wy country before I was born with his work. He and my Grandmother lived just to the north in Oklahoma, on an old ranch house that generations before him lived, a soulful place for our family gatherings, the priceless memories of my childhood. My grandmother Clarabell, was couragous and strong, living in a place somewhat like here...with pioneering spirit, a tough Woman and the heart of our family back in the day...it was there I continue to find many soulfulness memories of my youth with my cousins, aunts and uncles. Wallis had a lot to say, but one thing he would bring up ...was.. the weather. I just assumed that was what old folks do if they had nothing else to say when I was younger...must be aging myself, because I find the weather is a topic worth discussing...beyond numerous other potentials floating out there. Always a good way to start out a conversation if you have nothing else to say "How's the weather" it's amazing where that phrase can lead you. This 4th of July weekend started with 97 in the shade to 77 within hours and winds unusual to say the least this time of year. Waking to 60 degrees wearing jackets here in baja in July....nothing like most folks are accustomed to. Just days ago the water was turning blue, then came the south winds and a Big southern swell turning the water a cool green.......Happy 4th to the USA....no fireworks here, just sending out to friends a family all our best and enjoy the celebrations. "Nature is a volume of which God is the Author" Moses Harvey I am so very thankful the oil is not hitting our coastline as BP continues to fill the gulf of Mexico just off the US and now we have another recent similar problem elsewhere, imagine that...... and my heart goes out to the folks that are directly affected...yet it is all connected ...like the web of life.. "A moment's insight is sometimes worh a life's experience" Holmes http://www.whitehouse.gov/deepwater-bp-oil-spill/ At times like these it is easier for most to talk about the weather...... "The truth was knocking at the door, I said go away I am looking for the truth and it did" Pirsig author of Zen and the Art of Motor Cycle Maintenance. After all ....Life is what we make of it The DIA DE LA MARINA 06/01/2010
Today June 1st is the 68th Anniversary Celebration of Dia de la Marina. It kicked off at 8:30 with the many folks through the San Jose del Cabo and La Playita communities gathering to listen to several speakers about the imoprtance of our waters and protecting them. The Port Captain as well as Puerto Los Cabos representative were a few of the several to speak during this joyful occasion. The kinder of La Choya and La Playita were great entertainment, no doubt putting smiles on all of our faces. The children that participated in envents throughout the week were also congratulated and honored .....it was also great for us all to get a chance to see folks that we haven't seen for a while...beautiful. Three children from every kindergarden class in all of San Jose del Cabo were selected to attend this special occasion put on by the Municipality. Although the event was judged each individual, was given a certificate for participation and were aplauded individually as they walked up and shake the officials hands. The TV was their filming as well as the newspaper taking photographs. It was a classic event allowing the children to create a collage with the materials provided by their teachers. The collage was in celebration to Dia de La Marina including life under the sea worth protecting. SIMPLE ACTIONS...CREATE PROGRESS...CON PACIENCIA...WITH PATIENCE TOGETHER...WE CAN MOVE MOUNTAINS... 05/27/2010
The oil continues to leak out of the Gulf of Mexico uncontrollably...meanwhile folks are pointing fingers as to who is accountable...the life in the sea and on the coast lines continues to diminish....phew, too much to take..! Perhaps too little too late, but that will be up to our Great Grandchildren to voice....... When will we us/US AS A HUMAN RACE/ start to be accountable for our own actions, and once we see those folks that are responsible aren't accountable...when by God do we realize it is up to us to Do Something. My head shakes with frustration and sorrow....bring home the troops Meanwhile here at the homefront we have not only have a mother horse/Abuelita...which I have recently renamed her Milagro...aka...en english...Miracle if she can pull thru...comig our way with a 1 1/2 week old fillie and her young mare (pregnant) of all things..."Be carefull of what you wish for, you just might get it" I have not yet had a horse here in Mexico since I arrived... we are now looking at 4.... In La Playita...The inspector of all schools of the area managed to find a new teacher (maestro) for the 3 rd grade...just goes to show what a few good folks can do, when they/we put our foot down. It doesn't take money, just a solid foundation. The fair is setting up for the Dia de La Marina/La Playita festivities. Tomorrow Ellie will be joining with the chosen few to be a part of a collage painting starting around 8:30 am at Puerto Los Cabos's Marina.....Preparing for the big day... 1 Junio 2010. Meanwhile back at the ranch, the tranquillity is abundant. With Paciencia..Disfruta...nuestra espacio...*with a little patience, you are invited to enjoy our space... fyi, the best video is toooo big to post here :) what can I say, come by for a short visit and see for yourself ! I have passed these murals done by children countless times...It always is a beautiful site! Yesterday I stopped and took some photos after dropping off the recycling (on the way to the airport....take a right directly after Calle Ernesto Arambaro, directly before the overhead walkway.) recycling top of street..now taking plastics :) !!!!! These Murals are on going...the latest day celebrated was Dia de la Agua... basically these are about the values/valors we are educating our children/ or perhaps they are educating us...Paintings done by children ages 6 thru 12. These are some courageous children and no doubt their educators have a heart of gold. Escuela Primeria Justo Sierra T.M. Today is the 40th annual celebration of Earth Day in America. This by far was one of my most favorite holidays while living in the states!!! On my Calendar here it shows on this day ...22 April 2010... Earth Day is celebrated in United States, Canada and in Mexico. Although It is my view through the eyes of the La Playita Kinder these past 3 years, this day is not world wide recognized, at least not yet. We have more or less a similar celebration in early June.... We are in America too, actually North America,...there is Central America, there is also South America...we together are connected as a continent....So, somehow it amazes me to think on what day throughout our planet do all of the countries specify an exact date to Celebrate our Mother Earth...I can only imagine.... Can you imagine....... if we gathered together in the Americas alone, then poco a pocito throughout our planet to celebrate...What A World Party that could be... ![]() Just in case you missed that last photo above...here it is again. Because the whales are one of my most favorite creatures on this planet...I have no problem in saying it would be a tragedy to see them being killed for any reason... Period. Here is an e mail from Avaaz informing us of the threat of the Whale population in our waters here on this planet. Please take an opportunity to take a small moment of your time today and sign your name, like anything worth fighting for, nothing worth having comes easy. http://www.avaaz.org/en/whales_under_threat/?vl Each one of us is small, but we do have a voice and together united we are a powerful army...empowering us as a whole to fight for the truth, justice and in a non-violent manner. Join the good fight...there are so many good things to stand for. http://cpaf.repoweramerica.org/page/invite/earthdayremix?utm_source=crm_email&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=20100422bizremix&utm_content=linkbox "In wildness is the preservation of the world" Henry David Thoreau |
